What would a yes or a no vote do?
A yes vote would require voters to provide identification information with their mail ballot, in addition to their signature. A no vote would keep the current signature-only verification system for mail ballots. Either way, mail voting and in-person voting continue.

The choice is between adding an identification check to mail-ballot verification and keeping the current signature-only check. It is not a choice between mail voting and in-person voting; both remain available.
What to keep in mind
A yes vote changes the verification process. It does not require a photo ID, does not add a new registration step, and does not limit the forms of identification accepted at an in-person voter service and polling center.
